ALL NEW TC: Behavior Based Strategies Council

The Board of the California Resource Recovery Association (CRRA) approved the charter of the Behavior-Based Strategies Technical Council (BBSC) in June 2024. With the launch of this new technical council, we invite you to contribute to shaping it from the beginning.

The BBSC and its members are dedicated to driving tangible improvement in waste reduction and recycling behavior through leveraging expertise across all CRRA technical council membership. This TC will convene experts in behavior change, behavior-centered design, DEI, and other evidence-based public engagement methodologies to bring fresh perspectives and guide the broader CRRA membership in increasing the impact of zero waste systems. BBSC quarterly meetings will kick off on October 17, 2024, with interactive and informative content.

By showcasing proven, people-centered, and supportive interventions, this TC will equip CRRA membership with solutions to increase the capture of recyclable and compostable materials, drive household and building occupant participation in waste reduction, commercial participation in resource recovery, and proper behaviors related to  reuse, refill, recycling, composting, waste reduction and contamination minimization, sustainable procurement programs, and build greater public confidence in zero waste systems.
