Outstanding Zero Waste Achievers in California
Each year, the CRRA presents awards to individuals and organizations who go above and beyond in their efforts to prevent waste, reuse materials, recycle, compost, buy recycled and build “green.” It is CRRA’s honor to recognize outstanding achievers in California and publicize their successes.
» Rick Best Environmental Advocacy Award
This award honors lifetime environmental stewardship achievements and recognizes individuals who effectively advocate for Earth's naturalsystems. The award is for achievements that go beyond reuse, recycling and composting to encompass air and water quality, resource protection, and climate protection.

Who or What can I nominate? CRRA acknowledges individuals, businesses, government agencies, community-based organizations, schools, and projects that have made significant contribution and are from within the State of California. Review the various categories above.
Can I nominate the same person/organization/project in more than one category? You may nominate a candidate in multiple categories, but separate forms are required. Each candidate is eligible to win in only one category each year.
Can I nominate myself or my organization? Absolutely! You may nominate yourself, your organization or your project.
Do I have to tell my Nominee that I have submitted their name? All information is confidential. While you do not have to inform your Nominee, it is always wise to connect with them to ensure all content in your nomination is correct.
Does my Nominee need to be present to win? We definitely welcome the opportunity acknowledge Award Recipients at the Conference in front of a crowd of more than 600! But we also understand that not everyone is able to attend. Attendance at the conference is not mandatory to receive an award.
What do I need to provide? Be prepared to write an abstract of no more than 250 words about your nominee. Our application form is simple and can take as little as 10 minutes! Supporting documents may also be provided.
Awards will be presented during CRRA’s Annual Conference and Trade Show.
