2025 Board Candidates

Please take this opportunity to get familiar with the candidates running for the 2025 Board of Directors positions in all three districts. There is one open seat in each district - Northern, Central and Southern. Ballots will be emailed to members in good standing on Friday, April 25th.

 

 NORTHERN DISTRICT

 

TIM DEWEY-MATTIA

Tim Dewey-Mattia is the Recycling & Public Education Manager for Napa Recycling & Waste Services. Napa Recycling is the franchise hauler in Napa, as well as the operator of Napa’s Recycling & Composting Facility and the Northern Recycling Compost Facility in Yolo County. Tim got his start in Zero Waste nearly three decades ago – first with the Middlebury College recycling program and then for several non-profit recycling organizations in San Francisco. He has been at Napa Recycling for over 19 years and works on all aspects of program development, implementation, compliance and outreach. Tim served on the Northern California Recycling Association Board from 2015-2023 and has presented 13 times at the CRRA Conference over the years. This broad reaching expertise in all of California’s pressing zero waste issues – from composting facility and program development for SB 1383 compliance, to the ins-and-outs of recycling operations and policy as we navigate the SB 54 landscape – can bring a valuable and collaborative voice to the CRRA Board.


DEVIN JACKSON

Devin Jackson is a dedicated sustainability leader, educator, and advocate with over a decade of experience in environmental literacy and zero-waste initiatives. As a master's-prepared S.T.E.A.M. educator and administrative leader, he has worked extensively to integrate sustainability into education, driving systemic change in schools and communities. He serves as Vice President of the Northern California Recycling Association (NCRA) and Zero Waste Youth USA, chairs NCRA’s Zero Waste Schools Committee, and is an executive board member of the K-12 Technical Council. His expertise in resource diversion, the 6Rs, and DEI initiatives has been instrumental in advancing Zero Waste schools and environmental programs. Devin’s leadership and passion make him an excellent candidate for the CRRA Board. His commitment to collaboration, education, and policy advocacy will strengthen CRRA’s mission and help drive sustainability efforts forward.

 

CENTRAL DISTRICT

ALANA LOWRIE

My name is Alana Lowrie and I am very interested in joining CRRA’s Board of Directors team. I served as HHW Technical Council Chair for four years from 2014 to 2019 and greatly enjoyed collaborating with fellow members. I attended my first CRRA conference in 2006 and I have been inspired by this organization ever since. My background includes 14 years of sustainability and solid waste related environmental program management, leadership, and collaboration. I am currently an Environmental Program Manager within the City of San Jose’s solid waste program working on projects to lower recycling contamination, support the residential and commercial programs, and reduce solid waste-related greenhouse gas emissions. I bring a fresh perspective and South Bay Area representation to CRRA leadership. Thank you for your consideration.


ALYSSA RICE-WILSON

Alyssa has been working in the zero waste and recycling industry for 27 years. She has developed a broad range of experience working in non-profits, local/regional government, and consulting. In her current role, Alyssa is a Recycling Contract Manager for the City of San Jose, Environmental Services Department. She has been a fan and promoter of CRRA, since she attended her first conference back in 1999 (San Francisco). Alyssa enjoys introducing industry newcomers to the CRRA organization, networking opportunities, and the annual conference. She would be honored to serve on the CRRA Board for the Central District.


LINNEA WHITNEY SKIERSKI

I am honored to seek re-election to the CRRA Board to continue advancing our mission of zero waste, circular economy innovation, and environmental justice. With over a decade of experience spanning nonprofit policy, industry advocacy, and recycling software, I bring a unique perspective bridging public, private, and nonprofit sectors. As California State Lead and Director of Policy Implementation at The Recycling Partnership, I support interest holders navigating Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) and circular economy policies. Over the past term, I’ve worked to strengthen engagement between CRRA’s Technical Councils and the Board, ensuring members have a voice in shaping our collective impact. My leadership on environmental policy, workforce development, and industry collaboration has helped foster more inclusive and strategic discussions. I am committed to building stronger networks, expanding professional development resources, and ensuring CRRA remains at the forefront of circular economy leadership. I appreciate your support in continuing this important work!

 

SOUTHERN DISTRICT

JESSICA ALDRIDGE

Jessica Aldridge is an accomplished environmental steward with over 17 years of experience driving innovation in the waste industry. Her well-rounded career—having held direct roles as a consultant and within municipal government, environmental nonprofits, and a private hauling company—gives her a unique, systems-level perspective that is ideal for CRRA Board leadership. As the Director of Sustainability and Zero Waste at Athens Services, she leads innovative programs focused on legislative compliance, food recovery, outreach, and complex diversion strategies. Jessica has earned national recognition, including the 2021 International Women in Sustainability Leadership Award and Waste360’s 40-Under-40. She formerly hosted/produced the award-winning EcoJustice Radio (aired on KPFK and KPFT) and was a professor of Recycling & Resource Management at Santa Monica College. She is a founding coalition member of ReusableLA and former Executive Committee member for CRRA’s PRR Technical Council. Jessica’s proven leadership, industry expertise, and passion for equity-driven solutions make her an ideal CRRA Board candidate. NATALIE LESSA

Natalie has been a consultant in the waste industry for 10 years and brings an enthusiastic and creative approach to her work. Her specialties are CBSM, waste hauler contract management, edible food recovery and zero waste planning. She prides herself on being a fair, encouraging, and inclusive leader in her role as a Co-Founder of ReCREATE where she manages an 8-person team. She has served in various leadership roles, including as Co-Chair of the Behavior-Based Strategies Council and Secretary of the WISR SoCal Chapter. Notable projects that Natalie has managed include edible food recovery for over 30 jurisdictions in the state, a 10,000-household cart tagging project in Folsom, and single-use plastics and reusables policy engagement in three Southern California cities. She is a good fit to represent the association due to her professionalism, her extended connections with industry professionals, and her involvement in CRRA and attendance at 8 conferences.


JONATHAN LEVY

Jonathan Levy is a waste and recycling expert and the Principal Consultant at Zero Waste Pro. He supports municipal and private-sector clients in implementing waste reduction and diversion strategies that are practical, equitable, and compliance-driven. Through waste characterizations, lid flips, and other performance-based assessments, he identifies recoverable materials and contamination trends to drive measurable improvements. Jonathan specializes in developing tailored, actionable compliance strategies that help jurisdictions and haulers meet regulations such as SB 1383 while adding long-term value to their operations. Jonathan was first introduced to CRRA through a grant-funded program that enabled him to earn his Certificate in Sustainable Resource Management—a formative opportunity that launched his career. That early experience continues to shape his dedication to environmental and equity. With experience supporting cities, government agencies, haulers, and facilities, Jonathan brings a comprehensive and well-rounded perspective. Serving on the Board is his opportunity to give back to the organization that helped open the door.
