Description: Environmental Projects Manager is a working supervisory position in the Integrated Waste Division. An incumbent is responsible for planning and carrying out multiple projects focused on sustaining or enhancing environmental quality in the City. Duties and responsibilities are performed independently within established policy constraints.
Under direction, plans, coordinates, implements and monitors various environmental projects related to integrated waste management, hazardous waste, air quality, water quality, wastewater and community resource management; provides professional and technical assistance to various City departments in assigned areas of responsibility; and performs related work as required.
A typical way of obtaining the knowledge, skills and abilities outlined above is graduation from a four year college with a degree in a physical, environmental or life science, sociology, business, communications, public administration or a related field; and two years of responsible experience in the formulation, implementation and administration of environmental programs and projects in a government agency; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
