Recycling Program Manager

Description:
The Recycling Program Manager serves as the City’s technical expert managing its recycling program.

This is a division level position that is responsible for planning and coordinating a comprehensive solid waste recycling system.

The successful candidate will have the ability to:

  • Manage recycling contracts
  • Apply for and manage recycling grants
  • Suggest and implement recy-cling programs
  • Expand the City’s food waste recovery program in the commercial and multi-family sectors
  • Staff the Solid Waste Management Commission
  • Promote recycling programs
  • Help implement a rebuilt transfer station
  • Help the City continue to be a leader in waste diversion, and oversee the Division’s customer service group.

In addition, this position will be working with first line Supervisors in monitoring transportation work processes, procedures and expenses and identifying and analyzing transportation costs, and service levels; and making recommendations as required to improved effectiveness of transportation programs.

Experience in managing a day-to day MRF is highly desirable.

Monthly Effective Salary: $7,523-9,044 + Excellent Benefits which includes 2.7@55 retirement with CalPERS (City pays the 8% employee contribution).
