AnnualMembersMeeting
The Annual Meeting of the Membership is scheduled for Monday, July 30, 2007 in San Pedro, CA.  The meeting will take place from 11:30 - 1:00 as part of a member appreciation luncheon and update to the membership from CRRA and NRC.  If you have any items to be considered for the agenda, please submit them to Judi Gregory at judigregry@aol.com by July 6, 2007.  Members not attending the conference but who wish to attend the members meeting should RSVP to Judi no later July 6, 2007.

Sponsors and Exhibitors Wanted
The CRRA Annual Conference and Tradeshow is an excellent way to get the exposure and recognition your business needs.  A majority of conference attendees surveyed report that they are directly responsible for purchasing decisions.  These attendees are contracting for promotional products, office supplies, recycling bins and containers, recycling equipment and consulting services.  For more information on sponsorship opportunities, contact Judi Gregory at judigregry@aol.com.
 
Hotel Reservations.
CRRA's hotel block at the Crowne Plaza in San Pedro is almost SOLD OUT.  Check the website for information on how to reserve your room.
 
Take a Tour. 
This year, plan to arrive early and spend Saturday at Catalina Island, or visit the Aquarium of the Pacific.  Don't leave the conference until after you've taken one of the technical tours scheduled for Wednesday, August 1.  These tours will really "knock you overboard"!

Are you looking to be enlightened by your summer reading?  Have you had your fill of the New York Times best sellers list?  Are you looking to be inspired by one man's mission to preserve the environment.  For the first time, CRRA will be hosting a book club in advance of the annual conference.  The book chosen is "Planetwalker: How to Change Your World One Step at a Time" by John Francis.  CRRA is thrilled to discuss a book written by one of our 2007 CRRA conference plenary speakers.  The book will be discussed during the month of July on a new listserv so order your book now and get ready to dig-in and begin reading by the beginning of July.  John Francis may chime in on the book club listserve to answer CRRA members' questions as well.  To join the book club, please send an e-mail to info@crra.com.

CRRA Board election results are in.  Congratulations to Todd Sutton, re-elected in the Northern District, Tracie Bills, re-elected in the Central District and Richard Anthony, re-elected in the Southern District.

 The California Collegiate Recycling Council (CCRC), a technical council of the California Resource Recovery Association (CRRA) is proud to offer a $500 student scholarship to attend the National Recycling Coalition Annual Congress and Expo in Denver, Colorado from September 16 - 19, 2007. Details:1. Submit an essay (500 words or less) via email on why you should be selected for the scholarship to attend the conference; 2. Include a budget on how the funds will be used; 3. Only California students are eligible. (Winner must send in a copy of your valid student identification card); 4. All submissions due by Friday, July 13 by 5 pm; 5. Once essay is submitted, you will receive a confirmation that your essay is received.; 6. Submit essays to: rdifalco@csuchico.edu

Founded in 1974, The CRRA is a non-profit 501(C)3 organization dedicated to promoting waste reduction, reuse, recycling, pollution prevention, and composting.
