Speical Election Nomination Announcment

The nominations period for the Special 2006 CRRA Board of Directors election is now open.  Any candidates interested in running for a board position must submit a candidate statement of less than 250 words to kymd@4arc.com and bob@crra.com before 11:59 pm on September 6, 2006 to be eligible for the ballot.  Candidate member dues must be current and paid-in-full in order to be eligible for election to the board.

Due to the outcome of the 2006 Board elections, there are currently five board positions on the ballot.  Three directors will be elected from the Northern District and two from the Central District.

General board member responsibilities include:

  1. Participating in monthly board meetings
  2. Attending face-to-face quarterly meetings in Northern and Southern CA
  3. Participating on at least two board committees
  4. Learning and operating in compliance with all bylaws and policies
  5. Supporting the CRRA mission
  6. Upholding board standards
  7. Volunteering for occasional special projects or ad-hoc committees
  8. Attending the annual conference
  9. Assuring fiscally sound management practices
  10. Assisting and supporting members
  11. Representing the organization and interacting with other board members in a professional and responsible manner at all times

The 2006 CRRA Board election schedule is as follows:

July 24 - Special Election announced
August 7 - Nominations period opens
September 6 - Nominations period closes
September 8 - Ballots mailed
September 18 - Ballots due
September 24-25 – Annual Board Retreat in San Pedro.

I hope many of you will consider running for board positions.  It is a lot of work but can truly be a fun and rewarding experience.
